Made in 4 days for the GMTK Game Jam 2024! Also the first ever game I finished.

In The Water Rush, you must defend a water source by placing buildings. But you need to take into account its size and growth/decay. Buildings need to be close to water to be powered and function properly, but if they get caught in it, they'll be flooded and destroyed! Place your buildings strategically to be ready for any change in the size of the water source.

Unfortunately, water is not infinite. Every building and enemy that consumes it will reduce the flow. So keep your water consumption, and especially that of your enemies, under control...

There are three types of buildings:

  •      Workshop : produces additional buildings to be constructed
  •    Archer Tower : shoots arrows at all nearby enemies
  •     Laboratory : reduces water consumption of all other buildings

Controls: Place buildings with the left mouse button, destroy them with the right mouse button, scroll with the mouse to adjust the zoom and move the camera by moving the mouse to the edges of the screen.

Known Issues: In the web version of the game, the mouse remains in the bottom right corner after clicking the button to skip the story, moving the camera before you even enter the game. Otherwise, I would have liked to add more building types and more parameters to manage (such as terrain or other resources), but I haven't had the time!

Thanks to Brozen for his help!
Thanks to bipix for his illustrations of the story!
The rest of the credits can be found in the game's main menu.
